Take Heart is the Heart Support
Group for the Wyre Forest area based
on Kidderminster Hospital and
founded by Specialist Cardiac
Rehabilitation Nurse, Sally
Mansfield. Sally is on the
Committee which otherwise comprises
heart patients and partners.
Meetings are a means of allowing
heart patients and their partners to
meet others for mutual support.
The current programme of events is
shown on the
PROGRAMME page of this site.
Many heart patients and partners as
well as members of the general
public meet on Saturday mornings for
Stride and Stroll walks in N.W
Worcs. Stride and Stroll was
also founded by Sally Mansfield (in
June 2002) and regularly attracts up
to 80+ walkers. For heart
patients this forms part of their
Phase IV rehabilitation. It is
therefore no surprise that Take
Heart and Stride and Stroll are
inextricably linked, offering
Physical, Mental and Social support
to heart patients in their recovery
period and in their ongoing lives.
The Stride and Stroll program can be
found on the
STRIDE AND STROLL web-site.
Phase IV exercise classes are also
run by the Exercise Professionals
based at Kidderminster Hospital.
Details of locations and costs of
these classes are shown on the
CLASSES
page
of this site.
The
Coronary Rehabilitation department
run a weekly series of Health
Education Talks which are open to
anyone diagnosed with a heart
problem and their partners.
Details of these talks are given on
the
EDUCATION
page of this site.
